Stuart Logan • Master Celebrant, Founder & Course Leader
Stuart is a skilled speaker who has a background in business management and marketing. He holds qualifications in Celebrancy, funeral directing and management training. He also has extensive experience in the funeral & wedding sector, having worked as a funeral director for small family firms, larger conglomerates, to running and establishing his own.

Stuart's greatest strength lies in his warm and personable nature. He has a natural ability to connect with people and make them feel at ease. When it comes to writing, Stuart's experience and compassion allow him to create accurate life stories that capture the important details and memories that matter to families and couples.

His presentation skills are finely tuned, and he has a caring and passionate demeanour that brings these memories to life. As an experienced facilitator and presenter, Stuart understands the importance of a well-structured ceremony that incorporates poetry, music, words, and rituals. He knows how these elements can guide the thoughts and emotions of couples and families, creating a sense of hope, love, and mutual support.

Stuart has set the highest standards of excellence in his field. His philosophy is simple: to provide the best training to delegates every time.

James Cumming • APC Operations & Quality Control Manager
James, a long-serving professional, deftly manages the operations and events at the Academy of Professional Celebrants. His extensive experience leading major funeral companies enriches his approach and contributions to the APC's success.

James comes from a background in the funeral service industry. After a dedicated career spanning 30 years, he retired as a Funeral Director with a Diploma in Funeral Directing, a qualified Embalmer holding a (BIE) - British Institute of Embalmers, and experience as a Funeral Manager.

James is employing his organisational expertise in event coordination as APC events coordinator. We are thrilled to have James in our growing team as the company expands rapidly following many years of dedicated efforts!

Derek Duncan • Curriculum Development Officer, Course Trainer & Assessor
Derek transitioned from a long teaching career to establish his successful celebrant business. With a wealth of public speaking experience, he is a highly effective and skilled communicator. Clients often praise his warm and approachable nature, and he is dedicated to providing the best service to every client he serves.

He strongly believes that as professional celebrants, we bring happiness, comfort, and satisfaction to those we assist. He often describes himself as a non-religious minister, part of the contemporary "priesthood."

Passionate about Celebrancy, Derek also hosts our podcasts, conducts assessments and celebrant training for APC. Whether you are new to the industry or a seasoned professional, Derek is committed to supporting you in achieving success in your celebrant endeavours.


Jeff Diack • Course Trainer & APC Voice Over
Jeff has a background in commercial radio and has always had the ability to communicate with people in warm and friendly fashion.  He trained with APC a number of years ago and has since delivered hundreds of bespoke and personal funeral services.  

A funeral is the last thing we can do for a loved one and Jeff believes that every service deserves nothing but the best, and that the key to delivering an outstanding service lies not just with what we say, but in asking the right questions and listening to the answers.




Tessa Sheehy • APC Training Manager & Celebrant Success Coach
My name is Tess, a committed full-time celebrant with a strong dedication to my profession. I find great satisfaction in my work, as it grants me the opportunity to create bespoke and significant ceremonies for a wide range of clients.
